~~~Hot off the rack~~~
Sometimes, I get on a roll and gets all sorts of stuff done in a short amount of time. This was not one of those times. The newest quilt to leave my hands took me a week and a half. No fault of the quilt, just pure procrastination on mine But I finally finished it and it’s a jewel of a quilt.
This purple batik Lonestar quilt is so beautiful from top to bottom. Now I am going to come out and admit…..I don’t usually care for purple (no hate mail please). It’s just not my color. But it’s gorgeous here, for sure.
When she gave me the quilt, she requested quilting that would make the purple diamonds to stand out. I don’t think there was anything I could do to make them NOT stand out. One I got past oohing and aahing over the star, I caught sight of the flowers. So pretty.
Here is a closer view of the middle of the quilt. And the back, oh the back, is my absolute favorite. Just love the designs that the quilting made. I warned her before I started that I would have to use light thread on the back and she was ok with it. She even commented that she could use both sides of the quilt.
Close up of the center of the back. This type of quilting design is called continuous curve. I quilt a slight arc from point to point. More views of the back of the quilt. I must have taken 30 pictures of this quilt.
Thanks so much for looking! Until we quilt again……
    I love, Love, LOVE this quilt!! I need to determine what color scheme I would want and start a collection for this someday quilt. I never would have thought to combine the Carolina Lilies with the Broken Star. What a clever design! Did I mention I like this? Sarah
  7. holy cow! I’m with you on the ‘purple ain’t my thang’ road, but as you say, this one is a stunner! An amazing quilt–I hope you’re keeping a memory book filled with your talent for future generations! I’m EXTREMELY serious–you need to document your work. NOW!
  8. Now that is one gorgeous quilt!! I couldn’t have imagined making it more stunning but the quilting manages to do just that.
    Hope this is for a contest, exhibit or publication because it needs to be shared.
