Book Review and Giveaway!

I had the awesome opportunity to go to Quilt Market with some really fun people! While I was there, I met Melissa Averinos and I even got a copy of her new book, “Small Stash Sewing”. (Ok, so it was a book signing and she doesn’t know who I am, but I did meet her)

On my 7 hour drive home from market, I poured over the book and picked out the things I really, really had to make.

The first thing I made was this belt. Now I can show my Tula Pink Plume love everywhere I go! This was very simple to make and the instructions were so easy to follow.

Side note: I wanted to show how cute the belt looks on, but there isn’t enough photoshop in the world to make my muffin top disappear!

Since making the belt was so easy, I decided to make the Faux Pillowcase Dress next. Now I want to point out I have never made any type of clothing before and I was a little worried. But the directions were easy to follow and soon I had it finished:

Now I would love to pass the book on to a lucky winner, leave a comment saying hi and next Monday I will randomly select a winner.

Good luck and Happy Memorial Day!

Hug a Military Service member and tell them thanks!

Update: I guess I should mention that it is signed by the author, but she wrote my name in it. I hope no one minds.

  42. I would gladly let people call me Angela for a chance to win this book. After all, people call me by the wrong name all the time. Usually they call me Ericka (my identical twin sister’s name), but occasionally there is the person who seems to think ERIN is pronounced URN or much worse, URINE. (sigh)

  72. Hi! Sounds like a really neat book!
Love your Blog! Thanks for sharing!

  73. Oh I would love this book! Being a military wife myself and moving from place to place, I find myself limited a smaller stash of fabric. I am always on the look for projects that I can make without a lot of space, or fabric needed. Table runners have been a favorite of mine for awhile, but I would love to get a new fresh approach! Thanks for the giveaway!

  74. Sounds like a neat book. I love making pillowcase dresses and trying new things with them.
