NICU Charity Quilts

Quilter’s are such giving people and Vicki is no exception. She rallied the members of the KC Modern Quilt Guild to make baby quilts for a local NICU. She had had such a great experience with them that she wanted to pay it forward with quilts for babies that find themselves in the NICU. The 24 (!) quilts were turned in at the meeting last night and they were stunning. I didn’t get a chance to take pictures of them all but I did take some pictures of the ones that I quilted.

It is such a great cause to volunteer my time for, but it is also so relaxing to quilt on charity quilts. There is no stress, no expectations and the freedom to do whatever I want.

For instance, I got to use red thread on this quilt.

And a beautiful baby blue on this one.

This quilt was the one that Vicki made, the colors are fabulous!!!

Now I am going to get back to some stunning Tula Pink quilts that are going to be at Quilt Market……I can’t wait to show you pictures!

Thanks for looking,

Angela

  1. Good work!

  2. Thanks so much for making quilts for the NICU. I’m a nurse in the NICU and it means so much to the families to have people make special quilts for their babies. It brings a little bit of sunshine into somewhat cloudy days for them!

  3. From someone who child received a quilt in a children’s hospital once, I can tell you it really does mean a lot during that stressful time and is sooo appreciated. Thanks so much for doing that!
